As a political scientist I get vexed by people lack of understanding of terms that get bandied about
Communist and capitalist is not solidly left or right any more than socialism and capitalism is left right.

Yugoslavia Joseph Tito was a communist (will technically anyway) but he was clearly also right wing and nationalist in his philosophy. So despite branding as being anti fascist opposed to globalism he ruled in a manner similar to Chile’s August Pinochet who was a capitalist and a right wing fascist who favoured globalist free market reforms. I like wise I would argue Stalin was in practice (as opposed to marketing) a left wing fascist.

Red fascism is a term that equates Stalinism and Maoism with fascism. Accusations that the leaders of the Soviet Union during the Stalin era acted as “Red fascists” were commonly stated by Trotskyists, left communists, social democrats, democratic socialists, liberals and anarchists as well as even among right-wing circles
Though to be fair in contemporary society we normally do in modern parlance associate right wing with free market ditto fascism.
Yet while Bill Clinton was a left wing capitalist socially and right wing fiscally Bush/Thatcher were right wing capitalist through and through.
Social fascism was a theory supported by the Communist International (Comintern) and affiliated communist parties during the early 1930s which held that social democracy ( a socialist concept) was a variant of fascism because it stood in the way of a dictatorship of the proletariat, in addition to a shared corporatism economic model And yet the communist party who had being financed into power by oil and western industrialist was clearly not socialist in its thinking (go ask Trotsky about that pick in his head) and talk aside did a pretty mean goose step.

The real issue isms aside is your government government by the people for the people. Or government of the people for the benefit of the few.
Professor Vladimir Tismaneanu nails this issue well; “Two 20th-century ideologies promised a utopian vision that would ensure infinite happiness. They both stemmed from a political, social, and cultural construct that erased traditional ideas regarding good and evil. Both believed in the destruction of the old world, to build a new international order; each deplored what they saw as the pathetic ennui of bourgeoisie existence; each ideology’s shared purpose was to recruit members of the new utopia. Those ideologies happen to be communism and fascism, which together brought an orgy of violence, killed millions, and led humanity to its darkest hour, where the final destination was the deplorable Gulags and the gas chambers of Auschwitz”.

Left wing? right wing? All wings on the same turkey? At the end of the day the question simple is the bird a dove transparent and accountable flying for all. Or is it vulture* in which secrecy propaganda and totalitarian are its norm practices as it hunts for a few.
*A vulture is bird of prey and yet not all birds of prey are vultures.
