For those who back Bill Gates because he is not Donald Trump consider this. Many folk who deem themselves left leaning and who opposed the 1990’s bullshit offered by Michael Moore (Rogernomics spin doctor) when he was WTO director and trying to push through the FDA/W.H.O. Codex Ailmentus and who opposed the 2018 signed TPPA (in many case because of the monopoly it offered big pharma) are now saying oh corporation come and save us. They support Bill because he is not Trump.
FFS by that logic they would have supported the TPPA and Codex blue print for corporate hegemony the left has battled for decades.
Perhaps they might be best to consider the advice given by Anthony Bourdain “The utter contempt with which privileged Eastern liberals such as myself discuss red-state, gun-country, working-class America as ridiculous and morons and rubes is largely responsible for the up-swell of rage and contempt and desire to pull down the temple that we’re seeing now,” Bourdain told Reason
Trump is exploiting a legitimate anger. The same true here his motive is exploitative.
It does not mean however it does not contain a very valid truth.
An anger which saw the pro TPPA corporate backed eastern liberal (I would say neo liberals) not Trump savage Bernie Saunders attempts twice.
Its an ideology which sprung out of the Third Way which sprung up in the US under Clinton Obama Regan era and like wise under the Thatcher Blair era. Which in Blair case came directly from the same academic circles which bred Rogernomic (WTO Moore Rogernommcs salesman, Michael Basset it architect, Act’s Founder Roger Dougals who pushed it parliament and Lange as the front person which delivered the Trojan horse we came to know as the ‘New Zealand experiment’. Or locally simply Rogernomics.
A form of bastard socialism that followed the Lennist based State Capitalist model of Lenin (as opposed to the humanistic model provided via the Norman Kirk Government). For Lenin like Roger was happy to get into bed with industrialist offering them a nation with low worker wages in return for the support of their big pockets.
A model which needed to see the elimination and extermination of the bourgeois what we would call the middle class (looked out the window lately). Some would argue the Lenin Model was not in fact socialism but no different from the same model of fascism which saw the third Reich come to power.
Bullies both backed by big tech and industrial oligarchs. Two sides of the same coin. Seeking the controls offered by national Communism and the class (party) based perks of Capitalism for the societies chosen elite.
So when you consider that historic fact, combined with the academic pedigree that launch a response hyped by corporate media, you have to look at whose really being demonised by the anti Trump rhetoric (not Trump certainly) but rather those who said no to big pharma and big tech having unlimited power. Those who said no to the TPPA those who said no to Codex Ailmetus and the state capitalistic monopoly it offered the corporate 1%. Those now saying if you don’t agree with Bill you must therefore support Trump (and we all know red face man bad) though in fact Trump himself is simply being an opportunist and tapping into a legit concern that the Third wayers/ Rogernomic camp would prefer you ignored.
NOT A FAIR FIGHT
And when when I say corporate media I don’t just mean the Google, Facebook (more corporation saying listen only to our arguments) Microsoft controlled algorithms. Already experts in drowning out sane voices of opposition (who get censored online) while pumping up the volume of the crazy cat lady saying 5G and Elvis did it all flakery. A clever tactic which prove the opposition and any alternative voice must be nuts and can not be reasoned with* I mean the corporate media (the six families who own 98% of the worlds major networks). An elite whose domination of print, tv mainstream is made possible in part by the billions spent on them by big pharma and big tech in addition to the social programming we receive in forms of the entertainment we watch and view.
You have to ask your self whether your just being the victim of very slick marketing campaign (Textor & Crosby tell the lie repeat repeat repeat).
* In tech term this is called “information dominance think the case of Cambridge Analytics and Palantir for examples/
As for the idea those who oppose Bill oppose climate change/ vaccination argument.
This is more fuzzy logic that fails to address what is being protested at and set out to have the ‘haters’ branded unreasonable ‘right wing’ fringe nutters.
When in fact the argument not being considered and that are exploited by both sides in a reality which;
In the case of vaccination as a pro vaccination person always leaves me stunned by the number of zealot on both sides of the argument who dont quite get its a bit more complex than is too is not.
1. Not all vaccines are equal.
2. Vaccine do work IF applied correctly.
Applied incorrectly vaccine are equally capable of causing more damage than they cure. If you read a bit deeper you will find there is no guarantee a vaccine can be made for this type of virus and wont cause cross contamination. Vaccines are like nuclear power only as bad as the people making and managing them.
3. As John Le Carre Constant Gardner points out pharmaceutical companies like big nuclear (one in the same in fact) have a pretty shit record ethic wise. Further their is large case for contaminated viruses or viruses out of date being dumped on the third world. The re-emergeceof polio in Africa and Asia is example of vaccine deployed after the pathogen has mutated so the vaccine ends up doing more harm than good.
Then their are vaccines dumped under the guise of philanthropy that in fact earn their patrons huge dollars due to tax right offs. Many of which are them hidden in tax haven and charities tax rebates who benefit from pro cooperate tax laws such as those passed by John Key which saw tax rebates raise from 2.5% to 33% from 5000 ceiling to unlimited ceiling.
Meaning charities like Bill & Melissa Gates Foundation or more precisely the John Key Jacinda Adern related donations to Gates partner in health care in the third world The Clinton Foundation are not giving money away.
In fact they are investing money through a laundered merry go round set of foundations which scratch each other back. Gates is not a philanthropist he is a businessman and that induces in me no more confidence than Trump winning personality.
Further the assumption that because he rich he must be brighter and more switched on than the rest of us is a chilling thought. I would argue that when you look at his personal circle e.g. Jeffrey Epstein (architect of the Clinton Foundation financial mechanics) your choosing to over look plenty of clues that suggest as a business man whose bottom line not his altruism has and is always his guiding star.
Climate change wise we again are sold the same argument. We assume the UN /W.H.O./IMF, World Bank model seek to stop the world burning.
Yet we over look who the strategic partner of that model are e.g Monsanto, Dupont, Shell, Saudi Arabia with their barbaric weapons orientated Vision 2030 which focus on bio tech, artificial intelligence and building up the military industrial complex. Their partners in these goals which include the privatisation of water and food mono-polarisation often emerge as Lockheed Martin, Gates, Bezos, Elon Musk, an emerging cartel of ogicarch who see the rise in technology a mean to enhance their centralisation of power control and wealth.
Backing Bill because you hate Trump is akin to siding with the emperor of a navy used to build an empire with bloody force because you detest the barbarism of a single pirate captain.
Sadly I fear much of our academia and the left is blinded by an emotional bias.
One which has childishly forgotten the lesson of the rogernomics influenced third way. In much in the same way the fail to empathise with the very real concern and legitimate beefs of those who do not live in the world of the comfortable and ‘educated’ middle class. The same root issue that made a Bernie Sanders president impossible and created a hot bed of hate and frustration that Trump simply exploited.
Trump is not actually the problem.
He is simply a symptom of far deeper ill. One which will herald in a corporate theocracy whose high tech world offers its party loyal apparatchiks paradise but pretty much mean the age of corporation having to tolerate or humour workers rights is now over.
Hail the Forth Reich of big tech and those on its good side too bad for the little people.
Pirates come and go empires are much harder to dismantle.
