Brimen, who often cites Venezuela under Nicolás Maduro as evidence of the failure of socialism, was also a promoter of a separate Libertarian free state Próspera established after a 2009 US backed coup in Honduras that installed a drug cartel Trump friendly dictator, Prospera has been backed by a number of American investors and Silicon Valley figures who embrace a libertarian philosophy, a similar “innovative” drive to that often associated with Israel’s tech sector, which is frequently based on necessity and security needs. Investors have compared the potential for Próspera’s growth to the development of places like Israel and Dubai. Prospera was later found unconstitutional and Brimen is now fighting Honduras of a 11 billion gated community.

In 2023 an advocacy group called the Freedom Cities Coalition, along with more established groups like the American Enterprise Institute, are pushing Trump to keep a 2023 campaign promise: the establishment of “Freedom Cities” in the United States. Supporters of the secretive FCC include Peter Thiel and Marc Andreessen. Freedom Cities Coalition also created by an entity called NeWay Capital LLC, which owns several trademarks for Próspera. Erick Brimen is the CEO of NeWay Capital, LLC.

“Why Are Military Exercises Being Held in Local Communities? Residents in Tasman-Buller question the New Zealand Defence Force’s judgement in staging more huge ‘war games’ in their townships. This year’s exercise began last week and will continue until mid-November. The military exercise continues Southern Katipo, held in Nelson-Tasman-Buller-Marlborough in 2015. This year, West Coast and Kaikoura districts are included. More than two thousand troops from New Zealand, the US, UK, Canada, Australia, the Pacific and elsewhere are involved. Some military personnel are ‘embedded’ in local communities before the exercise begins. During the 2015 exercise, Murchison (population 500), was ‘occupied’ by international military forces for one month. While some Murchison residents were comfortable with that, others say it was a stressful ordeal. Parks and sports areas were requisitioned by the military and declared off-limits to locals, while troops conducted armed exercises around the shopping area, on domestic streets, in rural areas and within Kahurangi National Park.

The ‘war games’ are based on a fictitious scenario set in a Pacific region called Becara, which is suffering high unemployment due to a decline in forestry, coal and gold mining and ‘low investor confidence’. When the Becaran government proposes a new economic vision for the region, some Becarans object and form a resistance movement to oppose it. What worries some locals is that NZDF also say that the exercises could potentially be used ‘either in New Zealand or one of our Pacific neighbors’ and it’s the admission they could be enacted in New Zealand that gives cause for concern. For one thing, the description of Becara bears an uncanny resemblance to the southern West Coast of New Zealand, where the former government remains eager to implement ‘special economic zones’ which would allow them to bypass existing regulations in order to speed up the issuance of mining and oil exploration permits. Forest and Bird chief executive Kevin Hague said in July that documents released under the Official Information Act indicated that ‘the scope of law and regulation that the government is proposing to suspend, to facilitate these developments, is breath-taking’. And with off-shore oil drilling also a contentious issue in the region, is it too much of a coincidence that this year’s exercise includes a military response to ‘a dispute over offshore oil reserves’?”

Incidentally the Venezuela raid involved the 160th SOARS Nightstalkers, who recently training in Sydney and then Queensland, as a part of Talisman Sabre. Australia is one of the most resource-rich nations on Earth. Iron ore. Lithium. Coal. Gas. Rare earths. Trillions of dollars’ worth of natural wealth pulled straight from Australian soil.And yet Australians are told—year after year—that there’s no money.

No money for healthcare. No money for housing. No money for veterans.No money for regional communities.

Companies like BHP, Rio Tinto, and Fortescue dominate global resource markets using Australian land, Australian water, Australian infrastructure, and Australian labour. They extract billions in raw materials, export them at world prices, and then minimise what they return through:

• Weak royalty regimes. • Aggressive tax minimisation.• Accelerated depreciation.

• Profit-shifting to offshore entities.

The resources belong to the Australian people. The profits do not come back to them. The Government Isn’t Helpless — It’s Complicit….

Successive Liberal and Labor governments have refused to confront the mining lobby. Instead, they repeat the same tired talking points about “investment certainty” and “jobs,” while quietly allowing Australia’s wealth to be drained. So if you accept that you’re left with two factors.

One is profiteers. Big boys have surfed the wave, probably encouraged it then used it to cream profit. Probably to counter losses elsewhere. In times of hardship the family silver is usually used to buy the debt bondsman when nothing else of worth is left to be sold. The second factor in play is extension of the first those with large debt used the wave to dumping reserves to cover losses elsewhere.

So the good news in both cases is the loss will recover and the pattern will repeat but climb ever higher. Demand remains strong.

The bad, or more specifically realistic news, goes back to my first critique. Geopolitics is getting volatile out there and markets are increasingly weaponized. It would be interesting to know where the sell off came from to precisely trace the origins. If for example it came from state owned Chinese assets, then it’s China shedding debt as it continues to wage war of the Greenback. If on the other hand the sells came from West its short-term profiteering and the question, then becomes who continues to buy when the market dips and if the answer is China, then dead cat bounce rebound will be significant So expect to see continued big highs — followed by counter strike big dips.

Each high and low will be bigger than the last but overall long term I don’t see any reason it won’t keep climbing or that silver won’t keep getting stronger as China makes it’s a restricted export and the US classify it as critical minerals. Logic dictates when demand is high and supply is controlled profits will increase. interesting times…. all the above is my opinion, but it does come with 30 years background in geopolitics…and nut just me cutting and pasting what Chat GP distilled from todays headlines and click bait.

Here’s the part that keeps getting lost: the deal already exists.The government negotiated it. Cabinet signed off on it. It was announced as a win. At that point, internationally speaking, New Zealand has said to India: “yes, we’re doing this.” What’s coming to Parliament now isn’t the deal itself – it’s the boring-but-necessary step where NZ law gets updated so the deal can actually work. Parliament has to pass legislation to make it workable.And that is the vote everyone is suddenly pretending is the big moral moment.

So when you see headlines like “Labour will support the India free trade deal”, what they really mean is: Labour is being asked whether to help implement something the government has already signed New Zealand up to.That’s a very different thing.

What’s clever (and kind of gross) is how responsibility is being shuffled around. The people who negotiated and signed the deal are suddenly acting like they’re just spectators, while the opposition is being lined up to wear the political consequences. This is especially on-brand for Winston Peters. He gets to sit in government, be part of the decision-making, and then step out afterwards to say “well I have concerns,” while quietly letting Labour take the heat either way.

If Labour votes yes: “See? Labour supports it.”

If Labour votes no: “Labour is anti-trade.”
