News of biolab opening in Nelson reminded me of my own pre 2020 research into biowarfare and mystery deaths.

Dunedin Civil Defense briefed on influenza out- break “closing schools, supermarkets and other areas where disease could be transmitted though the possibility of avian flu in NZ is not thought likely’ ODT, June 2005.

“NZ Health officials are bracing for potential deadly.flu pandemic as Asia’s Bird Flu emergency escalates (half million infections anticipated) ODT, January 2004.

“The death of seals on the Auckland Islands is perhaps the first of many incidents that will confirm an adventure in biological warfare.” Nelson Mail, Feb 1998

Monitoring the ‘mystery death’ of microbiologists, DEADLINE has compiled a list relating to the sudden deaths of the world’s leading infectious disease experts. DEADLINE culled this list, remov-ing cases which occurred before 2001, or deaths over sixty (with the exception of homicides, or where co-workers died within 24 hours of each other).

The list remains disturbingly large, and holds a very large NZ component.

#1 Dr. Matthew Allison (Oregon, USA), D(32):  13 Oct 04  Biotechnology specialist  car explodes  –  when startıng. 

#2 Dr. Michelle McCormack, D(34): 5 July 04  Marine scientist at Portobello, working with Otago  University S  Zoology Department, dies when  truck in Dunedin. Coroner Jim Conradson, states secifically, McCormack allegedly walked into the side of the moving truck.

The coroners report makes no specific mention of any witness who saw the accident actually take place.

1. Witness, who saw truck iddle at light and wait for McCormack’s to cross road, not interviewed 6 week later threatened by truck drivers
2. Witness verified by seperate Watati resident who also Witness event and truck idling interviewed 6 week later.
3. Author played Coronor witness statement who confirm truck must have stayed put for an entire change of lights but not willing to take further action.

McCormack’s death occurs just before a “mystery illness’ (cornybacterium – the cause of the infection being the mystery) strikes Otago’s Penguin colony for the second time in three years.

One version of the suspected virus is reported as being able to jump species.

#3 Dr. William T. McGuire, D(39): Last seen late April 2004. – Bio-containment facility specialist found in three suitcases, floating in Chesapeake Bay USA.

#4 Dr. Mark Turnstall (Otago Microbiology Department), D(39): 2 July 03 – Cardiac failure, dies after slipping into a coma – Turnstall’s death occured only months before a “mystery” illness struck Dunedin, killing three people (later classified as dying due to cardiac/respiratory failure).

DEADLINE first brought Dr. Turnstall to the authorities’ attention (as opposed to Otago University), with Conradson acknowledging Turnstall’s symptoms mirrored the other cases. Turnstall worked in the same department which produced designer toxins for AgResearch, by “reducing blood pressure in major organs’, causing the subject to slip into a coma, leading to subsequent death by cardiac failure.

The viruses, used to manage vermin, were first tested on wallabies and kangaroos. The police did not investigate the four deaths, which were instead examined by Otago medical profes- sionals (working with Otago Medical School) and Dunedin’s coroner Jim Conradson.

He appears in inquest as simply Mr and his link to Otago University where omitted from the public report. Cause of death of victims listed as “lifestyle”.

In 1906, a “mystery illness” which only blinded Ctago kangaroos and wallabies broke out in Australia. This occured just following the ‘accidental’ release of Rabbit sultar Calicivirus (RCD) from a secure bio-security facil-ity on an island off the top of the South coast of Australia.

Detroit Health News lists Australian oficials’ as then assisting in the release of RCD in NZ, leading to the suspension of a NZ MAF offi-cial.

The official report into this outbreak was then #1 reviewed, on behalf of the NZ Government, by a senior management of Bio Security New Zealand m (Bio Security Australia’s subsidiary) and AgRe- search. They shelved the original report titled a “biosecurity fiasco.”

In 1998, Oregon, USA, scientist Dr Alvin Smith (a world expert in the calici strain, who linked the mass death of seals, fish and reptiles to calici), would write to the, then PM, Jim Bolger, noting the release of RCD was, ‘an uncontrollable and unpredictable biological experiment”, which would release a “viral haemorrhagic … this disease is far worse than the Ebola virus for humans’, insisting the virus can leap species.

#5 Dr. Ian Langford, D(40): 11 Feb 02: Microbi- ologist, specialist on the environment, beaten to death (Norwich, England), work papers ransacked.

#6 Dr. Ngyuen Van Set, D(44): 14 Dec 01 Suffo-cates after being locked in a bio security lab used to examine pigs (as part of a disease detection proc- ess), and the demographics of RCD in Australia.

#7 Dr. Assefa Tulu (USA), D(45): 24 June 04 Designed revolutionary system for detecting viruses or bacterial agents – cardiac failure.

#8 -10 Dr. Avishai Berkman (Tel Aviv Public Health Department),

Professor Matzner, dean of the Hebrew University-Hadassah Medical School in Jerusalem and chairman of the Israel Society of Hematology and Blood Transfusions, son of Holocaust survivors. One of the world’s top experts on blood diseases. He was working on cloning the gene connected to FMF and investigating the normal physiological function of amyloid A, a protein often found in high levels in people with blood cancer. As

Dr. Amiramp Eldor (expert in haematology), killed in plane crash (Hadassah-University Hospital’s haematology department but left for his native Tel Aviv in 1993 to head the haematology institute at Ichilov Hospital. He was an internationally known expert on blood clotting

Aged 50, 54, 59 respectively)

#11 Dr. Benito Que (Miami University) D(52): 6 Dec 1 Haematology specialist, beaten to death (verdict later changed to cardiac failure).

#12 Dr. Paul Norman, D(52): 27 June 04. Chief at the UK Ministry of Defense’s biological laboratory -killed in plane crash.

#13 Dr. David Banks. D(55): 7 May 05 Quarantine Quarantine  specialist with BSA (Bio NZ’s parent), studying the  potential demographics of disease spread from  Indonesia into Australia – killed in plane crash.  Flight recorder destroyed. Asked about this by a top Adviser fowl play.

#14 Dr Irynej Skira, D:(55) 25 Jan.05 Succumbs  to an undiagnosed illness after studying a ‘mystery  illness’ killing ‘thousands’ of birds in Subantartica.

In NZ papers, Skira works for Tasman Park and Wild Life (in Australian papers, he is described as an employee of the Department of Primary Industry, Water and the Environment). Skira operates under Otago University Zoology Department, headed by Dr Henrik Moller, co-director of Ecosystems Consultants Ltd, private consultants involved in ‘wildlife management’ aka pesticide extermination.

In the nineties, Moller was lambasted by Forest and Bird, when he failed to reveal his economic links to Timberlands, having publicly defended the concept of sustainable logging.

#15 Dr. David Wynn-Williams, D(55): 24 Mar 02 (NZ Antarctic Research Program) – led 2000 assess- ment into the capability of microbes to adapt to environmental extremes, including the bombard- ment of ultraviolet rays and global warming – killed when struck by a vehicle.

#16 Dr. Victor Korshunov, D(56): 9 Feb 02 Intes-tinal bacteria specialist -beaten to death. 

#17 Dr Don V Wiley (Harvard) D(57): 16 Noy 01 World expert in DNA sequencing and the corona virus (a cousin of avian bird flu and RCD), suffers a seizure – at the exact moment a gust of wind made him lose balance and he fell headfirst off a bridge.

#18 Dr. Michael Patrick Kelly 24 June 2004. Infectioue disease specialiet, working wih Ex Robert Shope to upgrade Galvaston Bioweeweey Tsh fior Homeland Secuity Office (housing the world’s dendliest bio-weapons), suffers cardiac failure.

#19 Dr. Jeong H. Im (USA), D(72): 7 Jan 05. Korean Jeong H. Im, Dr. Specialist in protein chemistry, multiple stab wounds, found dead in the trunk ofa burning car.

#20 Dr. Robert Shope, D(74): 23 Jan 04. Suffers complication following a lung transplant.

In 1996, Dr Shope and EcoSystems Consultants (Dr Moller, Otago Zoology Department) is hired by the NZ Government to review whether RCD should be imported into NZ.

The group also involved Lt.- Colonel Dr Donald Burke, Walter Reed Institute of Research, Maryland (the US Army’s primary bio- logical weapons research centre). It was Shope who first warned of pending global epidemics, brought on by global warming.
Without a doubt, some of these deaths will be ex- actly what they appear to be -accidents, but in light of the high number of homicides, and the numerous ties to virology research (specifically RCD), perhaps the final words should go to Prof.

John Blenerhes- sett (a former Pathologist at Otago Medical School), who stated, during the mystery deaths of 2003, “One is chance, two is coincidence, three is enemy action” – so what’s twenty?
