In August 2019, unsealed documents revealed connections between Robin Hood Foundation director New Yorker Glenn Dubin and Jeffrey Epstein, including allegations of involvement in his sexual abuse. Former house manager for the Dubins, Rinaldo Rizzo, described a 2005 encounter at the Dubin’s home with a 15-year-old girl employed as a nanny. Rizzo said the girl, who was shaking and crying, told him that she was pressured by Ghislaine Maxwell to have sex with Epstein, with Maxwell taking her passport when she refused. A month into her employ, according to The Daily Beast, the Dubins took the girl with them to Sweden, where she was dropped off at an airport. The unsealed court documents were from a lawsuit filed in 2015 against Maxwell by Virginia Roberts Giuffre who named several individuals as participants in Epstein’s sex trafficking scheme. It included Glenn Dubin as one of the men with which Epstein and Maxwell forced her to have sex with. In September 2020 the Attorney General of the British Virgin Island subpoenaed the Dubins as part of their probe into the dealings of Jeffrey Epstein.

The foundation has also come under fire for keeping a Wall Street wolf tied to Epstein on its advisory board. Jes Staley, the former chief executive of Barclays bank, sits on the emeritus board alongside BlackRock titan Larry Fink and Fox Corporation’s Lachlan Murdoch.

Staley and Dubin benefited considerably from their connection to Epstein. The two men met through Epstein and the relationship led to a highly lucrative business deal. Epstein personally introduced the two men while Staley was head of the private bank at JP Morgan. JP Morgan later purchased Highbridge Capital in a $1bn deal that elevated Staley’s standing at the bank – and netted Epstein a fee of $10m.

Robin Hood Foundation directors have also included disgraced Hollywood mogul and serial rapist Harvey Weinstein who worked extensively with Frame store founded by Ardern’s former boss.
